Text Box: All CCs and Companies are now required to submit annual returns to the Registrar of companies within the month of its anniversary date or the month there after to lodge and pay its annual returns. In keeping with legislation, the Registrar of companies needs to determine whether the registered business is still in business and to confirm that the Registrar is in possession of the latest information of the CC or Company. A penalty fee of R150 is payable each month after the anniversary year of the registered entity. Failing to comply for more than a period of six months, the Registrar may conclude that the CC or Company is no longer conducting business and may refer it to be deregistered.
